The story behind our Product Research Team

Tasmin Sibbald, Operations Director, talked about the launch of Vypr’s Research Team – Helping Customers to Make Better Decisions and Winning Products

Prior to joining Vypr (think great people, great culture and fun) I worked for nearly 20 years using consumer insights – client side, working for manufacturers, brand owners and retailers. During this time, I learned (from experience) how I didn’t want to be treated by data suppliers and how I did.

When setting up the Customer Growth Team at Vypr, my colleague Tim Driver and I discussed this at length. Determined to get it right, we landed on an ethos of growing Vypr via helping our customers to grow, by leveraging our expertise. With an NRR of 106% and an NPS score of +75, we’ve clearly done something right.

Accommodating changing customer needs

Winding forward five years, our product and the business have evolved. and we now find ourselves with four times the customers and are able to conduct research in over 30 markets. The challenge has become: how do we maintain our high standards of support as we scale? 

Our customer needs have also evolved, in the last year requests for ‘managed services’ particularly from global brand owners increased by 25%. Led by the brilliant Amy Landon, our Customer Growth Team has 150+ years of Insight and Product expertise across 32 categories. In addition to maintaining these areas of expertise, we have now set up a new team…

Product Research Team responsibilities

We have some of our brightest colleagues in this team who are responsible for:

  • Establishing Vypr as ‘the centre of excellence for research methodology’,
  • ‘Fulfilling customer research briefs’, and 
  • All ‘advanced analytics’ (such as our ability to create bespoke segmentations within the Vypr platform, Range Reach and Brand Tracking).

The Research Team will accelerate our ability to provide thought leadership within the industries we operate in and help shape the future direction of our product. By really understanding our customers needs, pain points and challenges, it leaves us best placed to be your product intelligence platform of choice — now and in the future.
