From Soil to Shelf – Closing the Knowledge Gap in Regenerative Farming

Free Webinar on 3rd June, 2025 | 11AM BST

Unlock insights into regenerative farming

Start date: Tuesday, 3rd June 2025

Start time: 11:00 AM BST (London)

Duration: 45 minutes

As regenerative farming gains momentum, many consumers still don’t fully understand what it is, why it matters, or how it impacts their food choices. Join this expert-led webinar to explore how brands, scientists, retailers, and farmers can work together to bridge this knowledge gap.

You’ll discover:

  • What regenerative farming really means – and how it differs from organic and conventional farming
  • How to communicate the health, taste, and sustainability benefits to consumers in simple terms
  • Why storytelling, certification, and clear on-pack messaging are key to building trust
  • The role of soil health in creating resilient, future-proof food systems
  • How challenger brands and major retailers are making regenerative products more visible, accessible, and trusted

Whether you’re a food brand, retailer, sustainability professional or just curious, this session will offer actionable insights to help you join the regenerative movement.

Meet the Speakers

There’s lots to unpick and discuss, and to do this we are joined by a fantastic panel of experts:

Beth Mander, Programme Manager of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation,
an expert in circular design for food, will share how systems thinking can drive mainstream adoption of regenerative principles.

Claire Mackenzie, Producer at Six Inches of Soil, brings the farmer’s perspective to life through storytelling. She’ll reveal how personal narratives can power consumer understanding and behaviour change.

Sophie Kirk, Senior Commercial Manager for the Soil Association, will unpack the critical role of certification, transparency, and regulation in building consumer trust in regenerative labels.

Prof. Andy Neal , Soil Systems Microbiologist at Rothamsted Research, will offer a science-first perspective on the links between soil microbiology, biodiversity, and long-term food sustainability.

Holly Holder, Senior Marketing Manager at Wildfarmed, from packaging to promotions, Holly will share what’s working for Wildfarmed in helping everyday shoppers understand and choose regenerative.

Debbie Davies, Founder, Contigo Management, a category expert with years of experience understanding what shoppers really want, will help guide us through the conversation.

Prof. Andy Neal

Research Scientist, Rothamsted Research

Andrew is a soil microbiologist at Rothamsted Research, North Wyke, Devon, UK. His research takes an in-depth look at microbiome evolution and function in dynamic soil systems, demonstrating complex interactions between physical soil structure and microbiome metabolism. With significant implications for nutrient-use efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions from soils, extension and testing of these theories in agricultural soils in different geographical regions is an important step to establishing a common theory of soil system function—revealing the extent to which geographically distant soil microbiomes share genetic complementarity and common responses to soil management. Andrew was a co-author of the recent British Ecological Society’s report “Regenerative Agriculture in the UK: An ecological perspective
