Senior QA Engineer: A UK-based role focused on developing and maintaining automated test scripts using Playwright, executing comprehensive testing across web, mobile, and API platforms, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to ensure software quality and reliability for Vypr’s AI-driven product intelligence platform.

Our cross-functional, agile product team collaborates to design, build, and deliver Vypr’s brand-new AI-driven platform. Comprising software engineers, mobile engineers, QA engineers, product managers, designers, and a delivery manager, the team is guided by modern tech principles—such as a serverless-first approach, event-driven architecture, and CI/CD—to build scalable, secure, and highly available solutions that drive innovation and growth.

Things that you will do 

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and other industry-standard frameworks.
  • Execute automated and manual tests to ensure software meets required quality standards.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and infrastructure to enhance reliability and scalability.
  • Investigate test failures, debug issues, and collaborate with engineers to resolve defects efficiently.
  • Optimise CI/CD test automation pipelines to enable fast and reliable deployments.
  • Stay updated on QA best practices and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

 What you will be responsible for 

  • Ensuring software quality and reliability by developing and executing automated and manual test cases.
  • Maintaining and improving automated test frameworks to support fast, scalable, and efficient testing.
  • Identifying and addressing test coverage gaps to reduce defects and improve overall test effectiveness.
  • Investigating test failures and debugging issues, working closely with engineers to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Tracking and reporting key QA metrics, such as test coverage, defect escape rate, test execution time, and flakiness, to drive continuous improvements.

What you are good at  

  • You have proven experience in writing and maintaining automated tests using Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
  • You have hands-on experience with Web, Mobile App, API, and Backend testing, ensuring full test coverage.
  • You have a sharp eye for detecting issues, validating requirements, and improving software quality.
  • You can work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to drive quality initiatives.
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug issues efficiently and continuously improve test reliability.
  • You stay up to date with QA trends, automation tools, and industry best practices to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
